Admission to the Library (Excerpted from the Library Regulations)
Â Â Â 1. All Lingnan University students and staff are eligible users. For admission, students should obtain a Student Identity Card from the Registry. Staff Identity Cards are issued by the Human Resources Office.
Â Â Â 2. Graduates of Lingnan University, staff spouses and children aged 15# and above are eligible to apply for Reader's Cards at the Library circulation counter. Graduates may also apply for Borrower's Cards by paying an annual fee of HK$200 plus a deposit of HK$500 refundable upon termination of borrowing rights.
Â Â Â 3. JULAC Library (Borrower) Card holders can register with the Library for borrowing books. Students of other UGC universities can access the Library based on mutual agreements reached by JULAC.
Â Â Â 4. Staff of government departments, quasi-government bodies, and non-profit organisations can apply for readers' cards with the recommendations from their department heads or senior executives.
Â Â Â 5. The Librarian may approve other persons to use the Library for a specified period or purpose.
# The existing reader privileges for staff's spouse and children aged 15 or above are upgraded to the same as holders of external borrower card, effective from 3 Oct 2011.
In addition, external users may apply for an External Borrower's Card or Reader's Card.

Lost items are collected and kept at the Circulation Counter. Please check with staff at the counter in person. Valuable items will be transferred to the Security Room for security reasons. In addition, if you can't find the missing item, you can fill in a missing item report at the counter, so that our staff can contact you in case someone may find your item later.

Yes. Please note, however, that materials offered as a donation is not always added to the library collection. They will be evaluated with criteria, such as relevance to the teaching programs, usage, currency, physical conditions and so on. The Library may not accept items that are already found in the collection. Donated materials become the property of the Library. The Library reserves the right to dispose donated items not required by the library collection.
Donated items together with a donation form can be sent to the Circulation Counter (1/F of the Library).

You may fill out a book recommendation form (obtainable at the Circulation counter) or fill out the online recommendation form atÂ /services/library-forms/book_av_rec. Lingnan University staff can also recommend new books and serials through the online system available at http://www.library.ln.edu.hk/services/library-forms.
