SUGGESTIONS ON ENHANCING THE LIBRARY SERVICES (03 DEC 2016)

Thank you for your email again.  Your suggestions are valuable for enhancing our library services.

Please be informed that library users can make use of “Chat with a Librarian” (http://www.library.ln.edu.hk/research/ask-librarian, Service hours during term 1 & 2: Monday - Friday, 2 pm - 6 pm) in Library web page for enquiries and suggestions to the Library.  This channel can solve students’ concern on disclosing their identity.

3/F IS Too COLD (2 Mar 2016)

Thank you very much for your suggestion.  After received your email, my colleague went up to 3/F and check the temperature and found that it’s a bit cool on 3/F.  We contacted Lingnan Facilities Management Department (FMD) and asked them to adjust the temperature on 3/F.  The main area temperature on 3/F is controlled by the central system and need FMD to do the adjustment.  We actually has a system to monitor the temperature in the Library.  We are committed to provide a nice and comfortable environment for our users.  Please feel free to contact us for any suggestions in the future.

NOISE IN THE 3/F (10 NOV 2015)

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your suggestion.

COMPLAINT ABOUT THE RECALL DUE DATE (25 Mar 2014)

Thank you for your email.

Different libraries have different circulation policies and procedures. The regulation for recalling books at Lingnan has been implemented since the mid-1990s, taking into consideration of students, even if they are part-time students, should have class on campus once a week. The 7-day return policy will also strike a balance between the original borrower and the new requester who needs the library material for his learning and research use as well.

Should you need further assistance, please feel free to let us know.

Regards,

THE DISPLAY OF NEW AV MATERIALS (5 Jan 2013)

Thank you for your following comment to the Library. Please note that we stop the display of new materials, i.e. books and AV materials, during the term breaks given the fact that less number of staff and students will come to the Library that time or they will not come as often as term time. By doing so, a user can check out the materials as soon as they are processed for learning or research off campus. Although it may not be meeting your expectation, such an arrangement should better meet the need of staff and students during this period of time.
