NOISE IN THE 3/F (10 NOV 2015)

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your suggestion.
Library staff and Library Service Ambassadors have regular patrol on public areas during the Library opening hours and will remind users to discuss at a reasonable noise level. Signs have been put up for reminding users to keep quiet in the Library, included computer areas in the Library 3/F. However, if you identify any user who is talking loudly in the public area, please feel free to contact our duty staff at the Circulation Counter, MLLC Counter or Information Commons Helpdesk. You can also send us a WhatsApp message at number 6057-6002 (Service Hours: 11:00-19:00 Monday to Friday) so that we can take immediate action. On the other hand, for users who require a quiet space, we like to suggest them to consider to use the seats in the north wing of 1/F, or book an individual room.
If we can assist you further, please let us know.

Best Regards,
Andrew Liu

Frequently, students chat loudly when they use computer in the third floor. Some students even sing when they watch music movie. Such behavior should be prohibited in the library where is a quiet place to study. In this week, one user advised such students to be quiet and not to sing but one student ignored the advice and continued to sing after the advice.
Please consider the following suggestions.
1. Post Quiet notice in the computer areas in the third floor and state clearly that disciplinary actions may be taken against such students.
2. Computer areas in other floors are relatively quiet in the presence of library staff. Suggest making patrols by library staff frequently in the computer areas in the third floor, say, every 30 minutes. Warning to students who talk loudly is suggested.
