The Library is aware that academic staff often need to find information of a particular journal, for example
1. Aims and scope.
2. Manuscript submission guidelines / Notes to contributors.
3. Editor's correspondence.
4. Publisher's correspondence.
5. Annual subscription rate.
6. TOC sample of a single issue and so on.To save the searching time of the academic staff, the Library is now providing a service of locating the above mentioned information. Colleagues who wish to use the service please
1. Fill in the Online Journal Information Request Form or
2. Print a hard copy of the Journal Information Request Form and send it to the Library (Serials) by fax (2838-6231) / inter-office mail.
The Library will try to locate the required information using all resources available in the Library but we do not guarantee all requests can be filled as some specialized publishers or Chinese publishers may not be listed in reference sources found in the Library. The inter-library loan will be considered if the required information is found in other local academic libraries.
NOTE:
- Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory and The Serials Directory are available online.
- Staff / students who are interested in journals of social sciences can search the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) on CD-ROM in the Library.
JCR on CD-ROM (social sciences ed.) provides reports of journals ranking in social sciences and core journals of different subjects
Please call the Reference Librarian, at ext. 8571 for more information on JCR
