Call numbers are shelf numbers for library materials. For example:

Call numbers without a prefix are shelved in the Chinese Book Collection (3/F) and English Book Collection (1/F).

Call numbers with a location prefix are shelved at the following locations:

• Dictionary Stand = Located at the dedicated dictionary stand in the Library
  　
• [LBK] = English and Chinese Large Books are inter-shelved together in the Large Book Collection (1/F)
  　
• Newspaper rack = Located next to the Serials Collection (1/F)
  　
• [REF] = Reference Collection (1/F)
  　
• [RES] = Reserve Collection (1/F) (Request at the Circulation Counter)
  　
• [SER] = Serial Collection (2/F)
  　
• [AVM] = Audio Visual Materials (MLLC Multimedia Language and Learning Centre) (2/F)
