Using Plucker (PalmOS Only) Using AvantGo (All OS)

Using Plucker (PalmOS Only)

For PalmOS users, you can use a free program - Plucker to enjoy the Library2Go! service. Just four simple steps:

1. Download the program to your PC at http://www.plkr.org/dl

2. Install the program to your PC, a small Palm program will also be installed to your Palm in the next sync.

3. After the installation, "Plucker" program will be found in your PC.  Open the "Plucker Desktop", add a new channel and name it as "LU Library2Go!"



4. Configure the channel as follows:
      A website URL in "Starting page" tab = http://www.library.ln.edu.hk/pda/index.html [Screen]
      Maximum depth in "Limits" tab = 4 [Screen]
      Color depth in "Images" tab = Thousands of colors [Screen]

Click "OK" to confirm the configurations.

The new channel and contents will be downloaded to your Palm in the next sync.

Using AvantGo (All OS)

For all users (PalmOS, WindowsCE & Symbian), you can use another free service - AvantGo

To use AvantoGo, you need an account.

  For existing AvantGo users, please >>>click here<<< to subscribe to the Library2Go! service.

  For new AvantGo users, please follow the instructions below to subscribe to the Library2Go! service:

  1. Go to the AvantGo site (https://my.avantgo.com/register/) to create an account and load the software for the AvantGo service on your PDA.
  2. Login to your AvantGo account (https://my.avantgo.com/home/).
  3. Under "My Account", select "Create a custom channel" and fill in the parameters as follows:
    • Title = Lingnan University Library2Go!
    • Location = http://www.library.ln.edu.hk/pda/index.html
    • Channel Size = these parameters depend upon the amount of storage you wish to devote to the pages. We suggest you start with:
      • Maximum Channel Size = 600k
      • Link Depth = 4
      • Include Images = Yes
      • Follow Off-site Links = No
      • Refresh = On every sync
  4. The next time you sync your PDA, you should see the Library as one of your AvantGo channels.
