Brief Description:

Lingnan University Library has a rich collection of audio-visual resources and selected research archives on microform.  It also records and reproduces local television programmes, lectures and seminars held on campus.  Because special viewing equipment is required to retrieve and use these contents, the Library will provide training for new students who want to learn more about the variety of resources available at the Multimedia & Language Learning Centre.  Students will be entitled for ILP credit upon attending.

Aims:

To assist new students to understand the broad coverage of AV materials, learn the locations for different formats and know how to operate some special equipment for using the contents.  Student attention will also be drawn to language programmes offered by CEAL (Centre for English and Additional Languages), accessible from MLLC website.  A tour is organized at the end of the session.

Duration: 60 min.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this training session, students will be able to:

  • access the MLLC website
  • look for different types of AV materials
  • check and register for the speaking and writing programmes offered by CEAL
  • operate different pieces of AV equipment
