  • Library Express Printing Service Enhancement

    To enhance the Library Express Printing Service, we are pleased to announce that an additional Express Printing Workstation has been set up at the Information Commons (IC). You may refer to the location at:

  • Talking Texts

    Ebsco databases (Academic Search and Business Source) will now let you listen to any HTML full-text article using text to speech technology. It also gives you a choice of accents (American, British, and Australian) and reading speeds. Although the technology has far to go, Ebsco is now providing machine translation of articles from English into Chinese or any of 33 other languages. The Factiva database also provides machine translation from Chinese to English or from English into Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish.

  • More connections and seats at the Library

    The Library recently added electrical outlets for laptops to over 50 carrels and added more seating. Including new sofas and casual chairs, the Library can now seat 632 people, 42 more than could be seated last year and 138 more than could be accommodated before the two third floor towers were enclosed for study space. Small tables for laptops have also been provided for students using the casual seating.

    Staff and students who complete three or more workshops will receive a Certificate issued by the Library. Students can also earn up to 3 ILP Credits!

    1. Provision of More Powerful PCs in the Library
    All PCs in the Individual Study Rooms and on the 3/F are replaced by more powerful hardware to facilitate your study and research needs.

  • Library Network Printing Service Enhancement for the New Academic Year

    Dear Students and Colleagues,

    To further promote the green printing service, all Library Octopus Black & White printers are now configured with double-sided printing by default. You can still switch to single-sided printing if needed.
