貧窮問題自古以來便存在，那麼從古到今，人類經歷過的貧窮有什麼不同？滅貧方法又有多少？本集作品結合了動畫、訪問及歷史畫面，以幽默的手法把人類的貧窮歷史作出大檢閱。由公元開始，經過中世紀、殖民主義年代、1929年至1933年的全球經濟大蕭條，一直到今日的福利國家和全球化年代，你會發現貧窮問題原來跟人類的歷史的一樣悠久，不過以前的貧窮是源於資源有限，而現代的貧窮更多源自社會上的不公平。
