Shows the history of football in Hong Kong. Football was introduced by the British when Hong Kong first became open to the world. In 1904, the first Chinese football team came into existence. In the 1930s football entered its golden era in Hong Kong, where many famous football athletes were produced. Since the 1970s, the number of people interested in local football has gradually diminished, and local football has all but disappeared.
