Earlier this month, mainland authorities hosted their first ever international HIV and AIDS Conference in Beijing. It follows an acknowledgement in June that the mainland is facing an AIDS crisis, with possibly hundreds of thousands of people infected with the HIV virus that causes AIDS. This program takes a look at the impact this may have on Hong Kong - and investigates the reliability of official figures relating the spread of the disease in Hong Kong. Saturday (1 December, 2001) is world AIDS day - and the theme of this year's event is " I care... do you?" That's the question AIDS sufferers and concern groups are asking
