Creative & Invention (04 Apr 2007)

Can creativity and invention bring a fortune? The source of creativity can be anyone: employees, competitors, suppliers, resellers and people around you. After having an invention, the next step is to commercialize it so that it brings a fortune. The productcan be a real object or a service that made available in the market and attracts customers ’ attention so that they purchase and use it to satisfy their desire.There are 4 cases in this episode: Case 1: With a huge puppy photo posted on it, a mobile pet grooming wagon travels around the city, parks at estates and offers pet grooming services. Many pet owners love the mobile service. More importantly, the owners can accompany their pets and take part in the process. Case 2: Many families and companies are faced with a shortage of space for storage in densely populated Hong Kong. A company, which used to focus on apparel production and have its own factories, has seized the opportunity by redesigning the idle factorys and let them out as mini stores. While there is a market, there are competitors. When competition becomes fierce, the company adds a new element, the mini office. Case 3: Fridge-to-go, a cooler-bag and a 100% local innovation, has won over 10 invention awards around the world and expanded into the international market successfully. It is careful listening that inspires creativity. Case 4: Although having his own invention, Mr Tsang, the creator of an environmental-friendly writing paper, cannot find an understanding partner. What can he do next to make a successful selling?
