A Decade of the SAR - Time to Celebrate? (29 Jun 2007)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

The long weekend will be crammed with official events to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR. Not everyone is in such a celebratory mood. In the midst of the revels, tens of thousands will be marching in the July 1st pro-democracy rally. Among those regularly taking the temperature of Hong Kong over the past decade have been the journalists for international publications. In tonight's show, we invite four of them into the studio to give us their impressions. They are Philip Bowring of the International Herald Tribune, Hugo Restall of the Far Eastern Economic Review; the Wall Street Journal Asia's Peter Stein; and Ilaria Maria Sala who writes for Il Diario.
