Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

Regarding the dispute over the Taiwanese election, Ma Ngok (Assistant Professor, Division of Social Science, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) says the current Taiwanese law does not allow vote recount. But he thinks Lien Chan cannot reverse the results with a recount. Gilles Guiheux (Director, The French Centre for Research on Contemporary China) agrees and observes that Chen Shui-bian won 10% more votes than in the last election, which is significant. He says Lien's Kuomintang will need an agenda in order to win the December Legislative Yuan Election, they also need to formulate the future of Taiwan.
