Donald Tsang's First Policy Address + The New Exco Line-Up (14 Oct 2005)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

Just a few hours before we first went to air Chief Executive Donald Tsang announced his new appointees to the Executive Council. They include Charles Lee and Marvin Cheung from the financial services sector, Ronald Arculli from the legal sector, David Li from the banking industry, Leong Chi-hung from the medical sector, businessmen Henry Fan and Victor Lo, and academic Anthony Cheung. We cover the announcement and the press conference immediately afterwards. We also cover a busy week for the CE. Throughout the week he has been talking to the media about his maiden Policy Address on Wednesday, and answering legislators' questions in a fairly light-hearted Q & A sesssion on Thursday. In part two we have in the studio the SCMP's Chris Yeung to provide political analysis; economist Stephen Cheung to provide economic analysis; and SOCO's Sze Lai-shan, who tells us that social welfare groups didn't sense much progress on livelihood issues.
