Looks at what causes tuberculosis (TB) to be such a big problem in Hong Kong and Asia. Physicians describe the causes, symptoms and treatment of the disease. Tam Cheuk-ming (Physician, TB and Chest Services, Health Department) says it can be an occupational hazard. The Directly Observed Treatment (DOT) program is also described. Physicians describe the dangers of laser hair removal performed by beauticians rather than registered doctors. Beauticians defend their practice, while laser specialists recommend laser safety legislation to protect the public since many beauty salons do not consider any eye protection during laser treatment.
