Liberal Party Chairman James Tien Pei-chun does not believe his Party is ready to be the ruling party yet although it is a long-term goal. Since most of the members represent businesses, his Party needs to move to the middle of the road to garner support from the middle class and the grassroots. Depending on the result of the current recruitment campaign, his Party may field candidates in next year's legislative council election.
