Half a million people, ignoring the scorching weather, marched on the street on July 1, 2004, demanding a more responsive and responsible government. Introduces the website "Rebuild Hong Kong" which has turned into a forum for grievances mostly against the SAR government. Dixon Sing Ming (Associate Professor, Department of Public and Social Administration, City University of Hong Kong) says Beijing's increased direct involvement in running Hong Kong is in direct contradiction with the "One-country, Two-systems" principle. Shows how young people are getting involved in politics which some expect may affect the outcome of the Legislative Council Election 2004.
