The draft bill for the national anthem law has been submitted to the Legislative Council. It sparked concerns and criticism over the general public. On one hand, the public says it can foster respect for the national anthem and promote patriotic spirit. But for the opposition to the draft of the bill, saying it can restrict freedom of expression and does not conform with the Basic Law. The reflection of national identity has been aroused again with the legislation of the national anthem law.
