A new space/A new world (25 May 2000)

Examines the volatility of Internet companies, reflected by fluctuating stock prices in Hong Kong and abroad. The program looks at several dot-com companies, how they are conceived, how capital is raised and their modus operandi. Most analysts think that only the strongest companies will survive since they are not based on concrete business models and lack sources of revenue. Entrepreneurs optimistically share their views on the future of their companies and the industry as a whole, but most business analysts think that the foundation on which many information technology companies are built is too uncertain.
