[Is our judicial independence under threat?] (18 Nov 2012)

There are many issues may impact the judicial independence in Hong Kong. For instance, a mainland scholar said that Hong Kong should not have foreign judges in our courts and we should have Chinese only judges. In addition, the former chief secretary said that judges had made mistakes in their rulings regarding the right of abode issue. Mr. Dennis Kwok (Legal sector legislator) and Mr. Huen Wong (Past president of the Law Society of Hong Kong) would discuss whether Hong Kong judicial independence is under threat. They concluded that when we have a legal system that has been working for many decades for the benefit of Hong Kong and the community, why change that?
