Portrays Pai Hsien-yung, a writer of Chinese literature, who was born in Taiwan, where he attended Taipei's Chin Kuo Senior High School. There, his love for novel-writing was developed. He initiated a new genre of modern literature as he began to study in Taiwan University. Pai went to the United States and obtained a Master's degree in 1963. His golden period of writing began at that time. In this programme Pai shares some of his life stories, giving the background of some of his works such as "Lonely Seventeen", "Taipei People", "New Yorker" and "Son of Sin".
