Protest & policy (04 Jan 2004)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

Looks at how different groups express their dissatisfactions towards the Hong Kong government under Chief Executive, Tung Chee-hwa. The "7.1 People Pile" sings Christmas carols with revised political lyrics, "The SPIRIT of Hong Kong" organizes weekly open-house, a volunteer group broadcasts positive news daily, and the "Spike" magazine publishes political satirical writings. Also shows representatives from three political parties expressing their views on universal suffrage in 2007/08, representation by functional constituencies and what they hope to hear regarding economic recovery in Tung's soon-to-be-delivered 7th Policy Address.
