Because despite reassurances that the worst of the bottoming out has ended, Singapore gas entered a new era. 35 years of heady growth is over. In its place, what economists are calling a 'see-saw' rise and dip of growth and joblessness. It's going to take more than a stronger US and a shifting economic make-up to boost Singapore's long-term forecast. As Prime Minister Goh himself has said - Singapore needs to be, remade. But how does he re-create a nation?
