In search of art (29 Dec 2004)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

In the eyes of many, art is something that could only be seen in a museum. However, local artists like Freeman Lau, Ha Bik Chuen and So Hing Keung clearly do not think so. To prove the point that art is all around us, they bring us to places where most of us are familiar with in search of hidden arts in our daily lives. Besides these “ hidden ” arts on the streets, there are also various kinds of public art commissioned by the government, as well as some large commercial organizations in many places in Hong Kong. Senior lecturer HO Siu Kee of the Art School will tell us the relationship between public art and the community. The programme will also feature the development of public art at Queensland, Australia.
