Taiwan's aborigines struggle for a better life ; Animal disease prevention (10 Feb 2004)

The aborigines in Taiwan are discriminated against by the mainstream society and government policies. Examines the consequence of this on the aboriginal children who have to compete with non-aboriginal children in schools and face sexual abuse due to an increasing number of broken homes. Hong Kong has taken radical measures to prevent humans from contracting the bird flu virus. But in the mainland, the source of most Hong Kong epidemics, it is difficult to control the virus spread to humans. Lo Wing-lok (President, Hong Kong Medical Association) says people in Southern China should change their eating habit and culture.
