Leung Lap-yan started his sole proprietorship following his invention of the Qcode Chinese Input System. Soon, a young man called Lau Man-kinwrote a letter to Leung, suggesting re-compiling the Qcode under popularWindows environment. In 1995, Leung and Lau went into a partnership known as Q9 Technology Holdings Ltd. With the launch of the Q9 Character Input System, the partnership gained attention from a listed firm, which eventually acquired a 40% in Q9, transforming it into a corporation. The programme will examine the changes (and their pros and cons) required for a business model during the development of a company.
