In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 in January 2020, the Library has been intermittently closed for access for some memberships since then. At present, following the University’s campus access policy, only existing staff and students in the Lingnan University are allowed to access the campus.

For all the paid membership users whose library card expiry date is after 29 January 2020 and find it no longer necessary to use the library services may opt to request for a refund of annual fee. The refund is calculated on pro-rata basis based on the remaining period of the annual fee starting from the closing date of the Library on 29 January 2020 (except those Library opening dates during the periods from 3 February to 29 March and 4 May to 14 July) until the card expiry date as shown in our Library System. The fee for Database Remote Access would not be refunded since there is no impact on the service.

The refund is a one-off payment including the deposit and will be payable to the entitled library users. For registration for the refund, please submit the Online Form to the Library for process on or before 30 November 2020. Late applications will NOT be accepted.

In case you wish not to opt for refund, no extension of the validity of the library card will be allowed. However, the physical access to the Library is subject to the access policy of the University. 

In addition, due to the Library renovation starting from mid-December 2020, the Library has suspended the new and renewal applications for individual External Borrower's/Reader's Card from 1 June 2020 to 28 February 2022. The Library will announce the updated information in the Library website in due course.
