Library materials may be renewed if:

• The checked out Library materials have not reached the Maximum Checkout Period as defined in Checkout Privileges.
• The materials have not been requested/recalled by another user. 

Users can renew items by accessing their Library Account and following the on-screen instructions. Items can be renewed any number of times until the Maximum Checkout Period is reached. The new due date will be calculated from the renewal date.

For Lingnan staff and students, eligible Lingnan Library materials will be automatically renewed three days before the due date up to the Maximum Checkout Period.

If there is no such Renew button available in your record, that means the item cannot be renewed manually as well as automatically due to your checkout privileges. Please check in the item before its due date to avoid incurring any overdue fines. 

The Library will send a weekly reminder every Monday to all users, summarising checkouts, renewals, and overdue items as a courtesy and reminder.

If your Library Account has any service blocks or fines reaching HK$30, your Library Account will be blocked. The suspension includes all entitled Library privileges, including check out and renewal (including automatic renewal) of Library materials, use of electronic resources, access to other Library resources through JULAC Libraries. You should settle all fines before resuming your checkout privileges.
