  • Database Training: Compustat

    Dear Colleagues and Students,

  • Database Trial: Chinamaxx E-Book Database by Superstar

    Dear Colleagues and Students,

    Chinamaxx is a Chinese e-book database with 700,000 titles of Chinese literature in Social Sciences and Humanities on China Studies.

    We are glad to let you know that a trial has been arranged for this e-book database and it can be accessed from the Library website from now until 31 October 2011 at:

  • Lingnan Library2Go App for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch

    We are pleased to announce that the Library has developed a mobile Library App “Lingnan Library2Go” for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch. It is now available for free download at the Apple App Store.

    All you need to do is to perform a keyword search "lingnan", "library2go", "fong sum wood" or "ln" at the App Store and follow the instructions to install the App on a device compatible with iOS 4.0 or later.

  • New Loan Quota and Loan Period for Academic Staff and Upgrading Library Privileges for Staff’s Spouse

    In order to meet academic staff’s expectation on a larger loan quota and longer loan period, with effect from 3 October 2011, book loan quota and loan period for academic staff (included UGC, Community College (CC) and LIFE teaching and research staff) will be increased as follows:

    Please be informed that the Library will be closed on the following dates:

    1 October 2011 (Saturday)         National Day

    5 October 2011 (Wednesday)    Chung Yeung Festival

    For book returns during the said period, please use the drop boxes near the pedestrian entrance.

  • Temporary Suspension of Library Online Services during University Internet Firewall System Upgrade (18 September 2011)

    Due to the upgrade of the Internet Firewall System carried out by ITSC, all Library online services will be temporarily unavailable from 8 am - 9 am on 18 September 2011 (Sunday).

  • Library Workshop Registration Now Open to All Students and Staff

    Join our library workshops in Sep & Oct by signing up at:

    Staff and students who complete three or more workshops will receive a Certificate issued by the Library. Students can also earn up to 3 ILP Credits!

  • HKALL service suspension on 26-27 August 2011

    Due to system migration performed at HKU, the HKALL service will be suspended from 11:59 p.m. on 26 August 2011. The whole migration may take about 24 hours. Users cannot search HKALL catalogue, request and renew HKALL items during the service suspension.
