Books
With 461,000+ volumes, all Library books are stored and shelved on 1/F to 3/F of the Library. They are all searchable on 1-Search and you can use the "locate" function on 1-Search to find the exact floor and shelf location. Most of the books are available for checkout according to our Checkout Privileges.
High Use Books
Located in the Late Reading Room (1/F Zone B), High Use Books collection is accessible for browsing and checkout during Library's Regular Opening Hours and overnight access period. This book collection consists of popular books with a high checkout rate and also required and recommended course-related titles listed in the Course Readings @ Library reading lists.
These books can only be checked out by our current staff and students to support their teaching, learning and research needs. Please refer to Checkout Privileges for more details.
References
The References mainly comprises quick reference tools including dictionaries, abstracts, indexes, bibliographies, directories, handbooks, yearbooks, statistical sources, government documents and annual reports of various organisations in Hong Kong, China to provide quick facts and reference. This in-house use collection with a prefix [REF] for easy identification is located in two different areas:
- Chang Han-tsiu Reading Room (2/F Zone A)
- Lee Hak Kan Multimedia and Language Learning Centre (2/F Zone C)
